Johnson had a brief stint at wide receiver early in his career, during which he had 40 catches for 690 yards and four touchdowns before moving to defensive back full time. His career lasted two more seasons past 1999 as he had stints with the Panthers and Broncos, but he didn't have the success there he had in San Francisco.
